FAB IN A BOX CART DESIGN

In the context of a sprint project, I was tasked with the design of a shop-like cart for the Fab in a Box initiative, jointly led by the Fab Foundation and the Center for Bits and Atoms. The project involves the development of a mobile cart equipped with various machines tailored for personal fabrication. This includes a laser cutter with an integrated fume extractor, a 3D printer, a vinyl cutter, designated storage for flat stock, a power hub, and provision for two functional workbenches.

I designed a cart utilizing aluminum extrusions, 0.5-inch plywood, aluminum composite, and an assortment of hardware components. The fabrication process involved Claire, Quentin, and me cutting all the necessary stock and swiftly assembling the components.
